"Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges”

STANDARD NOTICE

Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges" Under the No Surprises Act

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • No, we do not plan to offer in person sessions in the future.

  • Length of therapy is dependent on many things. We have people that come to us short term to work on a specific issue that has come up in their life and some people who choose to stay longer term to talk through their day to day stressors as a maintenance and well being type situation. Whatever your needs are, we can discuss them when we meet and come up with a plan that works for you.

  • Absolutely, we love referrals! You can refer Adrienne to people in Texas, Vermont, Florida, Maine, and S. Carolina. For Nena, referrals are welcome in the state of Florida.

Please note that we do assess all referrals for appropriateness of fit and for potential conflict of interest.

  • No, Strong Self Psychotherapy is a self pay practice. Working with insurance does not align with our clinical belief that the therapist and client should decide their course of treatment, not an insurance company. We also strongly believe in confidentiality which is not something that we can guarantee as your insurance can request access to your records. Also, accepting insurance requires the clinician to label you with a mental illness diagnosis which then follows you the remainder of your lifetime, regardless if one exists or not. Many people seek out therapy for support, help with goal setting, or to be heard. A diagnosis can impact employment, health/life insurance etc. This is especially important for young people or individuals considering careers in the military or law enforcement.

Also, for military members and 1st responders, if using insurance, this information can be requested by the employer, which again, violates confidentiality and can impact job status, etc..
