When I ask you to trust in me as your therapist, I realize that I am asking a lot, especially for people who have trust issues. Coming to a complete stranger to share about your personal stuff feels awkward, and weird, and may even make you want to run. I know it did for me. So, with that in mind, I try to be open and honest about myself to try to give you an idea about who I am and what I’ve been through so you A) feel a little less like I am a stranger and B) can see I have been through a lot myself and can possibly understand where you are coming from. But most of all, I hope it gives you hope because I was once where you are. Maybe not the exact same circumstances but I was at rock bottom in darkness in my life and somehow, I found my way out. But I wish I would have had someone like me there for me when I needed it and so now, I want to be that person for anyone who needs a lifeline. So, here is your lifeline in whatever darkness you find yourself in.
